The 2026 UIPM Pentathlon World Championships will be held in Guiyang from Aug 24 to 30. At a July 28 news conference, reporters learned that preparations for the event have entered a critical stage.
To ensure the successful hosting of the championships, Guiyang established the event organizing committee early on and set up a regular communication mechanism with the Union Internationale de Pentathlon Moderne (UIPM) and the Chinese Modern Pentathlon Association.
In line with international event standards, the city has upgraded two major competition venues and built a comprehensive management system covering competition organization, athlete services, media operations, spectator services, and logistical support.
During the championships, Guiyang will also host a series of cultural and tourism activities. A themed market near the Huaxi Lake competition venue will showcase specialty coffee, craft beer, local cuisine, cultural and creative products, and unique travel experiences. The event will also feature intangible cultural heritage displays, musical performances, drone light shows, and other activities.
Tickets are available online through platforms including Damai and local cultural tourism platforms, as well as at offline ticket outlets.
