Guizhou Guiyang Athletic defeated Wuhan Three Towns B 1-0 away from home in the 17th round of the 2026 China League Two preliminary stage on July 19.
In the first half, Wuhan Three Towns B repeatedly used several speedy attackers to put pressure on Guiyang Athletic's defense and create threats in open spaces. Goalkeeper Chen Junlin made several timely interventions to collect the ball and keep the opposition at bay. As the match approached its conclusion, Guiyang Athletic's No 8 Sun Enming struck the post with a long-range effort from outside the box. Moments later, No 29 Xu Jiajun was brought down inside the penalty area. The referee initially awarded a penalty but overturned the decision after consulting with the assistant referee.
In the final minute of stoppage time, Sun found space at the top of the penalty arc and fired home a long-range winner. The referee blew the final whistle shortly afterward, confirming Guiyang Athletic's 1-0 away victory over Wuhan Three Towns B.
