Guiyang wins opening match of Guizhou Village Super League Championship

The opening home match of the Guiyang leg of the 2026 Guizhou Village Super League Championship was held at Xiuwen County Sports Center in Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on May 17. Guiyang Kiwi Team defeated Anshun Huangguoshu Team 2-0 after a fierce 90-minute contest, securing a winning start on home turf.

As an important match in the provincial stage of the tournament, the event attracted large crowds of residents and tourists. At the opening ceremony, performances including original songs and traditional fan dances brought ethnic arts to the soccer field, highlighting Guizhou's integration of sports, culture, and tourism.

During the match, both teams displayed fast-paced attacking play and quick defensive transitions, with intense competition in midfield. Guiyang opened the scoring with a penalty in the 32nd minute and added a second goal in the 66th minute to seal a 2-0 victory over Anshun Huangguoshu Team.

In addition to the soccer match, the venue also featured specialty markets, food exhibition areas, and interactive experience zones showcasing local products such as Xiuwen kiwi fruit and Zhazuo pork knuckle.

Xiuwen county also linked nearby attractions, including Yangming Cultural Park, Taoyuan River, and Liuguang Hot Spring, to offer tourism discounts and travel routes, further boosting the integrated development of sports, tourism, and commerce. The second home match of the Guiyang leg will be held at Xiuwen County Sports Center on June 13.
