The 2026 National Youth Climbing Open (Guiyang Station) opened on May 2 at the Guiyang Caihu International Climbing Center. This national-level youth climbing event has been held in Guiyang for three consecutive years, providing a high-quality platform for young climbers across China to compete and exchange experiences.
"I'm participating in a national competition for the first time, and I think the event is well organized. The venue is very professional," said Yang Yuzhi, a contestant from Hangzhou, Zhejiang province.

"We came from Hangzhou and decided to take the opportunity to explore Guiyang during the competition," said Cai Danyan, Yang's mother. "Guiyang has a pleasantly cool climate, along with plenty of delicious food and beautiful scenery."
In recent years, Guiyang has attracted a growing number of sporting events thanks to its pleasant weather, well-equipped venues, and many cultural and tourism offerings, including the main venue events for the 2026 World Table Tennis Day in Guiyang. These events have not only boosted the city's sports industry, but also promoted the integrated development of sports, culture, and tourism.
The 2026 Culture, Tourism and Sports Integration Development Promotion Conference, part of the 20th Guizhou Tourism Industry Development Conference held on March 30, invited industry experts, business representatives, and local officials to discuss future cooperation. During the sub-event, Guiyang was recognized by the High-end Sports Tourism Think Tank Alliance.
During China's 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25), Guiyang promoted the deep integration of culture, sports, commerce, and tourism, with total tourism revenue growing by an average of 11.17 percent annually.
