Drawing on Luchongguan's unique mountain landscape and rich historical and cultural heritage, the event featured two categories: a cross-country race and a parent-child race. The cross-country race covered 12 kilometers with 12 obstacle points, while the parent-child race spanned four kilometers and included three fun challenges, combining physical endurance with more playful activities.

The course connected several scenic landmarks, including Wenlan Courtyard, Minghe Pavilion, the Guizhou Provincial Botanical Garden, and the Huancui Pavilion. Participants ran along a course with a forest coverage rate of 86.6 percent, tackling climbs, descents, and obstacle crossings at one of the highest elevations in the city.

The parent-child race was equally lively. Families worked together to complete playful challenges such as picking up tangyuan (rice dumplings) with chopsticks and striking a gong while blindfolded. Through these activities, families experienced a blend of traditional culture and outdoor sports. Many parents said the event provided a rare opportunity to exercise and explore nature with their children while encouraging them to embrace challenges.

According to the event organizers, efforts will continue to improve the competition system and build the race into an influential mountain outdoor sports brand event, attracting more enthusiasts to Guiyang and Gui’an to experience the charm of mountain sports.
