Guiyang and Gui'an hold road cycling race

The 2025 Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area Road Cycling Race kicked off along the shores of Yunman Lake on Dec 7, drawing more than 800 cyclists from across China.

The race featured five categories – men's professional, men's amateur, women's professional, women's amateur, and a public participation group – catering to riders of different ages and skill levels. The competition adopted a format of going around in circles, with each lap measuring about eight kilometers and linking some of Yunman Lake's most distinctive natural sections.

The event's organizer stated that Yunman Lake was chosen for its excellent natural environment and cyclist-friendly road conditions, which not only ensure a high level of competition but also allow athletes and spectators to fully experience Guiyang's ecological appeal and scenic beauty.

After the race, Tian Beixi, a seasoned participant in cycling events, said, "This course is not only physically demanding, but also immerses you in breathtaking landscapes throughout the ride. It's a perfect blend of competition and sightseeing."
