Wellness race in Wudang district brings fun for runners

Nearly 1,000 participants from across Guizhou province and beyond attended the Guiyang Panlong Mountain Forest Wellness Race on Nov 9 in Xiaba town, Wudang district.

The event featured three categories: a 21-kilometer mountain trail run, a 10-km forest wellness run, and a 5-km family fun run, which passed natural and cultural landmarks such as Panlong Mountain Forest Park and the Pudu River.

"I came with my family from Guiding county in Qiannan Bouyei and Miao autonomous prefecture to join the family run," said young participant Lin Jiaqi. "I'm happy and confident I can finish the race with my dad."

"I've mostly joined road marathons before, so this 21-km mountain trail run felt refreshing," said Zhao Changhong, a participant from Bijie city's Weining county. "Running through the mountains and enjoying the natural scenery along the way was amazing."

In addition to the races, the event featured traditional cultural activities such as a long-table banquet, a rice cake-making experience, and specialty fairs, offering participants an immersive experience of local ethnic customs.
