Guiyang invites visitors to culture and tourism events

A series of events kicked off on May 18 in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, to mark the countdown to 2025's "China Tourism Day". With open arms and vibrant offerings, the city invited locals and tourists to join a cultural celebration highlighting the "Cool Guiyang" brand of the city.

The "Let the World See" Roadside Concert and a special ethnic music showcase at Wenchang Pavilion filled the city with festive rhythms. Performers from the Guizhou Ethnic Unity Parade brought traditional music and dance, while music lovers from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan presented a lively medley of classic hits.

Guiyang also launched its "International Museum Day" event at the former Dade School site. Themed "The Future Museum: A Fusion of Time and Space", it introduced a 3D museum map and a city memory exhibition. Nine interactive booths offered games, collectible badges, and immersive experiences that showcased the character of Guiyang's museums.

The "Flowing Heritage: Guiyang Cultural and Creative Market" opened at Guizhou Ethnic Museum's Tonggu Square, featuring a cultural and creative product market, artist exhibitions, hands-on intangible cultural heritage workshops, and live performances that boosted cultural inheritance and consumption.

At the "Land of Scholars, Flavor of Majiang" fair on Cao Zhuangyuan Street, visitors enjoyed ethnic performances, curated travel routes, and special giveaways – extending a warm summer invitation to travelers across China.

Longjing village in Qingyan Town hosted the "Bouyei Nostalgia in Longjing" event, offering a rich cultural experience with songs, bamboo pole dances, traditional wine rituals, hands-on intangible cultural heritage crafts, long-table feasts, and bonfire parties – all celebrating Guiyang's ethnic diversity.
