During this year's Spring Festival holiday, a lively village gala lit up Longjing village in Qingyan Ancient Town, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province. The gala won over audiences, prompting many netizens to exclaim, "You must visit Longjing!"
Just 1.5 kilometers from Qingyan Ancient Town, Longjing is a 500-year-old traditional Bouyei village by the water in the mountains. Known for its strong ethnic heritage, it has been named a national key rural tourism village and a Guizhou provincial rural tourism and traditional village.
Longjing has developed new attractions like pottery studios, embroidery and batik workshops, silver forges, distilleries, and incense shops relying on rich ethnic culture and unique folk custom.
In 2019, national master craftswoman Zhang Tingting opened a batik studio in the village. As Longjing's popularity has grown, her batik products often sell out, according to Zhang. Visitors can now experience batik-making firsthand and feel the warmth of traditional culture.
Villager Long Deguo runs a distillery that produces Bouyei liquors, including the famous Huaxi Rosa Roxburghii wine, which was first created during the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). Its rich, sweet-sour flavor has earned a loyal following, with many visitors placing repeat orders after returning home.
In 2024, Longjing village attracted over 220,000 visitors, generating more than 16 million yuan in tourism revenue and 1.2 million yuan in collective village income. With its flowing ancient springs and deep cultural roots, Longjing is confidently stepping into a bright rural vitalization future.
