Guiyang tennis promotion earns national recognition in fitness initiative

On Nov 8, the General Administration of Sport of China announced the 2024 National Fitness Volunteer Service Project Collection winners. Out of 50 exemplary cases nationwide, Guiyang's tennis promotion program in schools and communities stood out, making it the only representative from Southwest China's Guizhou province.

The program, led by the Guiyang Sports Bureau and implemented by the Guiyang Tennis Sports Management Center, Guiyang Tennis Association, and Haoxing Tennis Club, has brought tennis to youth and community members alike. The program encourages active participation in sports and healthy living through free equipment distribution and guided lessons.

Guiyang held over 200 tennis promotion events across schools and communities this year, accumulating 616 volunteer hours and benefiting more than 50,000 residents.
