The 2024 Guiyang Soccer Association's third "FA Cup" Youth League (Autumn Season) kicked off at the Guanshan Sports Soccer Stadium, Saidian Sports Park, and Guizhou Communications Polytechnic University on Oct 19. This three-month competition is a key event for the Guiyang Soccer Youth Training Center, featuring over 2,600 players from 160 teams.
The tournament is divided into 11 categories, ranging from kindergarten to U7-U12 and middle school groups, with a total of 788 matches scheduled.
Fu Yunlong, coach of the Guizhou Qianzhixing Soccer Club, said, "Our team consists mainly of fifth-graders who are developing their soccer skills and tactical awareness. This tournament offers them a valuable opportunity to practice and test their abilities in real matches."
The league holds spring and autumn seasons annually, aiming to provide young athletes with a robust competition platform, encouraging both training and development. This initiative also supports Guiyang's goal of becoming a model city for national fitness and promoting overall public health.
Parents, like Mr Zhang, were excited to watch their children compete. "It's wonderful that these tournaments offer kids a chance to pursue their passion for soccer while growing and learning," he said.
