Dauntless participants scaled new heights as the fifth Guiyang 10 Peaks Mass Climbing Competition took place on Aug 10 at Denggao Yunshan Mountain Forest Park, located in the Yunyan district of Guiyang – capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.

Around 500 participants from Guizhou, Jiangxi, Hubei, Henan, Shaanxi and other regions took part in the event.

The competition featured three categories: 23 kilometers, 10 km and 5 km runs – catering to participants of different ages and fitness levels.

A key highlight of the event was the race route, which traversed Guiyang's three mountains and five parks.

The three mountains cover Denggao Yunshan Mountain, Shengmu Peak, and Qianling Mountain, while the five parks encompass the Denggao Yunshan Mountain Forest Park, the Guizhou Botanical Garden, Luchongguan Forest Park, Qianling Mountain Park and the Qianling Mountain Sports Park.

These peaks are renowned for their natural scenery and rich cultural history, making them significant landmarks and tourist attractions in Guiyang.

Participants also had the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful landscapes of Guiyang during their climb. "The forest parks along the way were lush with vegetation and the air was particularly fresh. I felt rejuvenated after the run," commented Guiyang runner Yang Xiuping after the race.

After intense competition, Zhang Yi, Huang Wei and Feng Chenchen claimed the top three spots in the men's 23 km race category, while Ren Ti, Wu Shunmin and Tian Xiaofang secured the top three positions in the women's 23 km category.

In the 10 km race, Wu Jiale, Pan Xiuqing and Tang Xiaofeng won the top three spots for men, while Wang Dan, Wang Fang and Jiang Yan won the top three spots for women.

In the 5 km race, Liu Jirui, Li Changgui and Yu Jianmin took the top three positions.
