Fencing competition in Guiyang concludes

The Guiyang "Fili Cup" Fencing Open, a leg of the 2024 China National Fencing C-Level Tournament, was held at the Guiyang International Convention and Exhibition Center in Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on Aug 10-11.

The event featured 71 fencing lanes, with 90 professional referees, surpassing the number seen in similar C-level tournaments in other regions.

The event saw a total of 2,000 people participate in three fencing disciplines for both men and women, with age categories including U6, U8, U10, U12, U14, U16, 17+, and an open group.

Registration for the event opened at 10 am on June 21, and all 2,000 individual slots were filled within just 13 minutes.

The event attracted numerous fencers from both within and outside Guizhou province, contributing to the promotion and popularization of fencing and supporting Guiyang's efforts to become a model city for public fitness and sports.

In addition to competing, some participating fencers took the opportunity to explore scenic spots in Guiyang and other regions in Guizhou, sampling local cuisine along the way.
