The 2024 "Run, Youth" Second National Youth Wushu and Combat Club Open Competition was held at the Guizhou Vocational College Sports in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on Aug 3.

The event featured 14 categories of Wushu routines, 12 categories of Wushu free combat, and six categories of Wushu Sanda. It attracted 95 teams and 2,285 athletes from regions including Guizhou, Guangxi, and Yunnan.

In the ring, the fighters skillfully employed techniques such as combination blows, kicks, and elbow strikes, stirring the audience and creating a lively atmosphere.

"To ensure fairness and impartiality, 82 judges participated in the event, including 12 national-level judges, and an electronic scoring system was introduced," said Du Hui, the chief referee of the event. "Compared to other provinces and cities, hosting such a national competition in Guizhou is significant for cultivating judges and promoting youth Wushu and combat sports locally," he added.

The event aims to provide a platform for more young people to engage in competitive exchanges and select outstanding Wushu Sanda athletes for Guizhou.
