The Guiyang city leg of the National Elderly Tai Chi Fitness Event was held in Zhenhua Square – in the Wudang district of the capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – on May 16.
Thousands of fitness enthusiasts gathered there to show the beauty of tai chi.
The event featured performances of tai chi boxing and the tai chi fan – a version of tai chi moves that use a traditional fan – highlighting their techniques while also demonstrating the positive and spirited attitude of the elderly participants.

In recent years, the Guiyang Elderly Sports Association has frequently organized sports training for seniors and has supported various districts and counties in creating specialized fitness programs for folks.
Moving forwards, plans are for the Guiyang Elderly Sports Association to continue to strengthen organized sports for the elderly, diversify sports events, expand the availability of facilities and enhance scientific fitness guidance for seniors – promoting the high-quality development of elderly sports in Guiyang.
