Spring trail running in colorful Guizhou

The Xifeng leg of the 2024 "Running Guizhou" Mountain Running Series and the 6th MT Xiwang Ultra Trail took place in Luwo village, Xifeng county, Southwest China's Guizhou province, on March 23.

The event consisted of men's and women's individual races with 51 kilometers, 35 km, 21 km routes. A total of 1,048 athletes participated in the event.

Xiwang Mountain, known as "the First Buddhist Mountain in the South", is located in northwest Xifeng, with an altitude of more than 1,200 meters and a forest coverage rate of 80 percent.

The event integrates natural beauty with sports by traversing 32 scenic spots along the route. Additionally, a series of activities such as outdoor concerts, low-altitude paragliding, spring touring and local specialty exhibitions were held concurrently. These activities helped to attract athletes who enjoy local scenery, cultural relics, and rural customs.

Founded in 2016, the MT Xiwang Ultra Trail is the first trail running event in Guizhou to obtain the International Trail Running Association (ITRA) points certification. It stands as a featured public sports event of the "Running Guiyang" brand and a significant calling card for Xifeng.
