Guiyang holds basketball league event to promote national fitness

The seventh Amateur (Employee) Basketball League of Guiyang City kicked off at the city's Qianlingshan Sports Park Basketball Gymnasium on Nov 18. The competition is set to continue until Dec 5.

A total of 89 teams with over 1,300 participants have registered for this event.

While ranking as an amateur competition, the players' individual skills and the intricate teamwork on display have already impressed onlookers.

In recent years, with the development of a "15-minute fitness circle", Guiyang has seen a continuous increase in public sports facilities, providing more residents with a convenient way of engaging in nationwide fitness activities.

The "15-minute fitness circle" means that residents of any community can reach a fitness space within a 15-minute walk.

This competition has made good use of the community multifunctional courts built as part of Guiyang's "15-minute fitness circle", bringing the event into the community and allowing residents to experience the charm of sports.
