Shuai Changwen, champion of the women's 200-meter canoe double rowing event at the Hangzhou Asian Games, was invited to hold a sharing event at Nanming District Cuiwei Primary School and Guiyang No 18 High School (Shougang Campus) in Guiyang city on Oct 17, where she proudly displayed her gold medal.

"How did you manage to persevere through such rigorous training?" A student from Nanming District Cuiwei Primary School asked.

At the two schools, Shuai shared the thrilling moments of her Asian Games competition and her personal journey in sports.

"Perseverance is a process that requires time to mature. I still have many goals to achieve, and I hope all of you can be as ambitious as I am about chasing success," she said.

During the sharing session, An Wanting, a student from Guiyang No 18 High School, inquired about how Shuai managed to adjust her mindset before competitions. Shuai said she copes with nerves by discussing potential problems with her teammates before the competition and devising strategies to handle them.

Principal Wu Hong of Guiyang No 18 High School expressed hope that the sharing activity not only allowed students to experience the charisma and inspirational power of an Asian Games champion but also ignited their passion for sports.

He said the initiative has had a positive impact on campus culture and the growth of the students.
