The first Guizhou Province Youth Street Dance Championship lit up the city of Guiyang from Dec 9 to 10. Nearly 400 street dance enthusiasts from across the province participated.
The event featured three categories, namely breaking, freestyle, and children's group dance.
Amid the cool lighting and dynamic music, participants flashed their seemingly boundless energy through a series of dance performances, captivating audiences.
Street dance, especially breaking, is widely loved for its high level of skill and entertaining nature. It has gained popularity among young people and has been officially included as a competitive sport for the 2024 Paris Olympics. It is also part of the Asian Games.
The purpose of hosting this street dance championship was to promote the development of street dance in Guizhou. The event aimed to accelerate the dissemination and popularization of street dance, identify and nurture exceptional talents, as well as play a proactive role in building a reservoir of talent for breaking across the province.
