Guizhou team wins West China go event

The 16th China Western Provinces and Regions Go Invitational Tournament took place from Nov 28 to Dec 2 in Jiayuguan city, Northwest China's Gansu province. The Guizhou province representative team, composed of five amateur players – Pu Yibin, Xu Jintao, Chen Xi, Wang Bo, and Chen Sanzhong – clinched the team championship.

Pu Yibin, in particular, achieved a personal victory by winning all seven matches and securing the individual championship.

The tournament featured 70 players from 12 western provinces and autonomous regions, including Tsinghua University and the Jiayuguan teams.

Xu Jintao, vice chairman of the Guizhou Go Association and one of the players representing Guizhou in the tournament, shared, "This is the first time that the Guizhou province representative team has participated in such an amateur Go event encompassing all 12 western provinces and autonomous regions. Winning the team championship this time is truly a pleasant surprise."
