Guiyang holds autumn branch of speed climbing race

The autumn event of the 2023 Guiyang Qianling Mountain Speed Climbing Race kicked off in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on Sept 9. Nearly 100 mountaineering enthusiasts from Jilin, Hubei, Jiangsu, Gansu, Fujian, Hunan, Guizhou and other provinces in China participated.

The total length of the race track is 6.1 kilometers, and the climbing altitude is about 600 meters. The track began at the Qianling Mountain Sports Park and ended at Daluoling Mountain – the main peak of Qianling Mountain, with an altitude of 1,396 meters.

This competition features an elite group and challenge group. In the end, Yuan Huade won first place in the elite group among men with a time of 50 minutes and 15 seconds, while Zhang Lian won first place in the elite group among women with a time of 1 hour, 7 minutes and 19 seconds.

The Guiyang Qianling Mountain Speed Climbing Race has been held 16 times since it was established in 2018, attracting much attention from all walks of life. It has become a popular mountaineering event in Guiyang.
