Guiyang schools, clubs among Chinese sports bases for reserve talent

The Youth Sports Department of the General Administration of Sports of China on Aug 28 publicized the list of "National High-level Sports Bases for Reserve Talent" for 2021-24. Many schools and clubs in Guiyang were selected.

Guiyang Sports Middle School was named a national high-level sports base for reserve talent.

Meanwhile, Guiyang Experimental Primary School, Guiyang Yunyan District Xingfu Martial Arts School, Guiyang Honghong Sports Club, Guiyang Yunyan District Hongxing Sports Club, Youth Sports Club of Guiyang Resident Fitness Center, and Guiyang Hailun Youth Basketball Club were all selected as national sports bases for reserve talent.

With the goal of implementing training projects for reserve talents, the General Administration of Sports of China has been carrying out the "National High-level Sports Base for Reserve Talent" identification work nationwide since 2004. This is based on four-year cycles.

Some projects related to the Olympics are involved in the identification process, and sports schools, schools and social clubs at all levels can apply for identification as such sports bases.

They can be divided into three categories, each denoting a different level: key national high-level sports bases for reserve talent, national high-level sports bases for reserve talent, and national sports bases for reserve talent.

This process of identification has promoted the reform and development of various sports schools, and improved the training quality of reserve talents in various sports.
