Pro golf tournament lands in Guiyang

The 2023 "Guotai Cup" Men's and Women's Professional Golf Competition was held in Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, from Aug 23 to 26.

Some 72 players participated in the event, which offered a total purse of 800,000 yuan ($109,687).

Zhang Xiaoning, president of the China Golf Association, said this competition greatly supports the association's efforts to build a leading competitive platform for the sport in China. It is also the first time for a professional golf event to be hosted by Guizhou.

Huang Youxing, chairman of the Guizhou Provincial Golf Association, said local golf enthusiasts benefited from close contact with high-level players, which will be conducive to promoting the development of the sport in Guizhou.
