Guiyang promotes national fitness

The launch ceremony for Guiyang 2023 "National Fitness Day" activities and "Sports Publicity Week" activities was held in Zhucheng Square in Guiyang on Aug 8.

The launch ceremony kicked off a national fitness exhibition, and the national fitness publicity exhibition area and national physical fitness monitoring area were set up on the spot to teach people about science.

During the event, Guiyang promoted the newly-revised "Sports Law of the People's Republic of China" and "Guiyang City to Promote National Fitness Regulations" laws and more than 40 national fitness events.

In recent years, Guiyang has focused on improving its national fitness public service system and carried out many national fitness activities.

By the end of 2022, the city was home to 14,357 sports venues, covering an area of 15.5 million square meters. There were 17,479 social sports instructors in the city, accounting for 2.9 percent of the city's total population. More than 300 events are held annually, and the proportion of residents who reached national physical fitness standards was 90.52 percent.
