National school soccer event opens in Guiyang

The sixth "Shanhai Cup" National School Soccer Invitational Tournament kicked off in Guiyang on July 29 as part of the so-called sunshine sports series of activities for millions of teachers and students in Guiyang.

Since the invitational tournament was first held in 2018, it has attracted soccer fans from schools across the country to gather in Guiyang to test their skills, making it an indispensable part of Guiyang students' comprehensive development.

This event was divided into four groups – men's and women's competitions for both junior and high school students. During the five-day competition, 22 school teams from 13 cities staged some nail-biting showdowns.

"This is my first time in Guiyang. I love its pleasant climate, colorful culture and delicious food. I will visit the city with my family again in the future," said Cao Xuanming, who plays for Chongqing Qinghua High School.
