Contestants at national Go competition give Guiyang a glowing review

The awards ceremony of the 34th "Jinsong Cup" National Retired Cadres Go Competition was held on July 7, and the five-day competition sponsored by the China Go Association came to a successful end.

The competition was divided into three groups, with the oldest players aged 86 and the youngest 60. A total of 24 teams – from the Central Office, the Liberation Army, Beijing, Shanghai and other units and cities – with more than 160 people participating.

In addition to the winning individuals and teams of three, there was also a winning Beijing team, a winning Guiyang team, and seven other awards dished out for "excellent organizations", as well as medals for the Central Office team, the Liberation Army, and 10 other sportsmanship awards.

During non-competition time, the players visited a number of scenic spots in Guiyang.

Feng Yuzhu, from the Shanghai team, was the oldest participant in the competition. "Guizhou's weather, humanity, and transportation are really good. I will visit the city again," he said.

This was 75-year-old He Ningling's fifth time participating in the Jinsong Cup, but his first visit to Guiyang. In just a few days, he fell in love with Guiyang, "The place where we competed is a scenic spot in itself, and I took a walk around it every day to feel the fresh and cool air of Guiyang."

The manager of the Guiyang sports bureau said that in recent years, Guiyang and Guian New Area have promoted the integrated development of sports and tourism relying on the area's strong ecology and other environmental advantages.

According to the Chinese Go Association, the next Jinsong Cup will be held in Guangdong province.
