Off-road vehicle drivers gun their engines in Huaxi district

Drivers gunned their engines as the Gaopo mountain racing series event opened in the Mengguan Auto Cross Country Player Base – in Huaxi district of Guiyang city, in Southwest China's Guizhou province – on April 8.

The event attracted the participation of nearly 1,000 cross-country enthusiasts and over 500 cars from all over the country.

A series of other exciting events – such as a cross-country race, a motorcycle obstacle race, a hill-climbing show and a forest crossing race – were held at the same time at three venues in Huaxi.

Of these, the Mengguan base set up water holes, a V-shaped gully, an S-shaped canyon road and other obstacles. Its course ran a total length of about two kilometers.

After the race, the cross-country team headed to Gaopo Yunding Grassland for carnival and music festival activities. The final in the series was held on April 9.

Moving forwards, plans are for Huaxi district to continue to enhance the brand influence of the Huaxi mountain sports and leisure resort sector this year.

Overall, it will move to promote the integrated development of its culture, sports and tourism industries.
