Night race held in Guian

The launch ceremony of the 2023 Guiyang Sports Tourism Promotion Season and Guian fluorescent night run was held in Guian New Area, Southwest China's Guizhou province, on March 24.

Over 200 runners from the city participated, holding glow sticks and wearing fluorescent t-shirts.

The 3.8-kilometer night run started and ended at Guian Cherry Blossom Garden, which was once called "the most beautiful cherry blossom garden on earth" by a BBC documentary.

The runway stretches along the garden's floral route. "This is my first flower-centric night run, which is very unique," competitor Lin Jian said.

"I have participated in a lot of running races, but I feel like this event is different from the others. First, the theme of the event 'sports + tourism' is unique. Second, it is more fun to win not only medals but also the chance to win gifts," said Yang Shuai, who took part in the night run, after reaching the finish line.

This event is just the beginning. Next, the Guizhou Sports Tourism Association will launch a series of exciting activities to boost Guizhou's sports tourism industry.
