Guiyang, Guian achieve high results in sports development

Looking back on 2022, Guiyang and Guian New Area in Southwest China's Guizhou province achieved great results in multiple sports aspects.

Record breaking events

In August last year, at the 11th Guizhou Games, the Guiyang delegation won 241 gold medals, 160 silver medals and 169 bronze medals, taking first place in the province in admissions ranking, medal acquisition, and gold medal acquisition.

Guiyang athletes also made great achievements in international competitions throughout last year. Shuai Changwen won the silver medal in the women's doubles rowing competition in Poland, which is the second stop of the Canoeing in Still Water World Cup. In addition, Bo Yan won second place in the men's singles and men's doubles categories at the 2022 ITF International Tennis Tour in Thailand.

Sports facilities flourished

100 national fitness routes, 10 multi-function courses and 10 intelligent fitness stations were built in each community in Guiyang and Guian last year.

Outdoor sports such as mountaineering, cycling, canoeing, and skiing gained popularity in the two regions in 2022.

In addition, Guiyang won a national Spring Festival sports tourism boutique line title, and two locations won provincial urban sports tourism demonstration base titles.

At the same time, Guiyang has established three municipal sports tourism demonstration bases and five urban demonstration bases.
