Guiyang has completed or upgraded over 100 national fitness projects, 10 multi-functional venues, and 10 intelligent fitness stations within the last year, all of which have been put into operation.
The Mawang Life Circle Multifunctional Stadium is one of Guiyang's national fitness projects, which features a basketball court, soccer court, and badminton court.
Zhang Jinyan, head of the sports department of the Yunyan district bureau of culture and sports, said that some communities are old and have long histories. To preserve historical architecture and infrastructure, the project team chose to build a multi-functional playground, rather than a fitness path.
"It only takes 10 minutes to walk from my home to the stadium, which is very convenient," said Zhou Shengwen, a resident of the community.

Such multifunctional courts were not only built in urban areas, but also in towns and villages.
This year, Guiyang plans to build 200 more fitness projects, which will include 82 fitness facilities that are suitable for aging citizens in addition to the sports venues mentioned above.
