Guiyang bureau issues survey of sports venues

The Guiyang bureau of sports has organized a statistical survey of sports venues in the metropolis this year, in order to further understand their current situation and development status and better promote their future construction and development.

According to the results, there are 12,479 sports venues in Guiyang – capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – covering a total area of 14.19 million square meters, with a per capita area of one person 2.32 square meters.

Some 1,064 of them are track and field venues, covering an area of 5.68 million square meters. Guiyang also boasts 217 swimming venues – including indoor swimming pools, outdoor swimming pools as well as natural swimming spots. There are also ball game venues for basketball, volleyball, table tennis, badminton and tennis, among others.

Furthermore, three ice and snow sports venues were introduced to the city in recent years: an ice hockey rink, a skating rink and a skiing resort. In addition, there are 588 fitness trails in the city, with a total length of 1,700.67 kilometers.
