Guizhou incentivized to develop mountain outdoor sports

The General Administration of Sport of China and the People's Government of Guizhou Province recently signed the Cooperation Agreement on Accelerating the High-quality Development of Guizhou Mountain Outdoor Sports.

Focusing on the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) for Sports Development and the need for high-quality economic and social development in Southwest China's Guizhou province, the agreement specified that the two sides would establish long-term practical cooperation.

The cooperation period is tentatively five years. The purpose is to develop Guizhou into a top international and domestic mountain tourism and outdoor sports tourism destination and promote the rapid and healthy development of Guizhou's sports industry.

The two sides will take full advantage of Guizhou's mountains and jointly promote the high-quality development of mountain sports and the construction of a national sports tourism demonstration area.

At the same time, the two sides made clear the focus of support and division of responsibilities. The General Administration of Sport will provide Guizhou with key policy support, project arrangement, and business support.

The People's Government of Guizhou Province will play a guiding role in strengthening organization, leadership, supervision, communication and coordination, as well as increase its support for policy formulation and project approval in the sports field.
