In the wake of the initiatives undertaken by the Guiyang bureau of sports in recent years, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, is building a giant fitness trail around the city that will feature its two wonderful rings of forest belts, among other things.
The main line of the trail will have a total length of 553 kilometers, passing through 34 townships and streets and at its highest point it will be 1,765 meters above sea level. It radiates out to areas such as the Guian New Area, Nanming district, Wudang district, Guanshanhu district, Huaxi district, Kaiyang county, Xifeng county, Xiuwen county and Qingzhen city.
The fitness trail around Guiyang will not only offer outdoor fun away from the hustle and bustle of the city, but also be a fitness venue that can be reached by people within 15 minutes. Through its branch lines, locals will easily reach a raft of sports facilities via the fitness trail.
There are about 2,000 sports facilities within 1 km of both sides of the trail. It will connect with, among other things, boxing gyms, basketball courts, table tennis facilities and other sporting venues, as well as the Guiyang Olympic Sports Center, the National Fitness Center, the Nanjiang Grand Canyon Car Campground and other public sports venues and green sports parks.
