Guiyang sports event for ethnic groups kick off

The 11th Guiyang Ethnic Groups Traditional Sports Meeting kicked off at Guiyang Kangyang Vocational University on June 14.

More than 860 athletes from 13 teams – from various districts, cities, counties, Guiyang College, Guiyang Preschool Teachers College, Guiyang National Middle School – competed fiercely. The event is being hosted by the Guiyang bureau of sports for three days and will last until June 16.

In accordance with the concept of "unity, equality, safety, splendor, and sharing", the event brings together people of ethnic groups in the city to carry out a harmonious sports culture festival in Guiyang.

The event features seven competitions, including crossbow shooting, skateboard racing, high-foot racing, and ethnic aerobics, as well as three types of performances.

The results of three types of performances were announced later that day, and the Guiyang University team, the Wudang district team and the Yunyan district team won first place.
