2022 municipal sports meeting held in Guiyang

Guiyang's sports work meeting and the promotional meeting to create a model city for national sports and fitness were held on April 13.

At the meeting, Mayor Ma Ningyu gave instructions to Guiyang bureau of sports: the bureau need to further implement the national strategy of national fitness, continue to develop popular sports, competitive sports, and the sports industry, and ensure a good start for the development of sports in the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25).

Guiyang will promote the coordinated development of popular sports, competitive sports and the sports industry, organize the 14th Municipal Games, and strive to build a higher-level public service system for national fitness.

The meeting demanded that the development of sports in the new era adhere to a people-centered approach and respond to the people's pursuit of health, development and happiness.

The city needs to make every effort to create sports fitness circles in which sports facilities are within a 15-minute walk from residents' houses.

In addition, the city hopes to upgrade the sports industry, increase the role of the fitness and leisure industry in the sports, speed up the implementation of the "Sports +" projects, and enhance the advanced structure of the sports industry.
