Guiyang social sports instructors association unveiled

The Guiyang social sports instructors association was unveiled in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on Oct 15.

Aiming to promote the healthy and standardized development of national fitness activities in the city, the association will strengthen training and management of social sports instructors and have them take a more scientific approach to teaching public exercise.

Members of the association include government agencies, enterprises and institutions, schools, sports associations, social sports instructors, and sports enthusiasts, among others.

The association is managed by a council, which now boasts 80 members on the first board of directors and three supervisors on the board of supervisors. Zhou Xiaoyi was elected chairman of the association.

The country has set a requirement that by 2025, there must be 2.16 social sports instructors per 1,000 people. At the end of 2020, there were 16,385 social sports instructors registered in Guiyang, already meeting the national requirement.
