Pump track competition begins in Guiyang

A pump track competition began in Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province on Oct 5, according to local media reports.

The competition was conducted in two groups – balance bikes and bicycles.

The competition was divided into a qualifying round, knockout round, semi-finals and finals. Players needed to ride two laps on the track in each round, and must wear the required protective gear in accordance with the requirements of the organizing committee to ensure safety.

Pump tracks have been gaining popularity in China. Players use balance bikes, bicycles, and skateboards to move up and down the track.
