Guizhou University Student Open Tennis Championship begins

The 2020 Guizhou University Student Open Tennis Championship kicked off at the Jinyang Tennis Center in Guiyang, capital of Guizhou province, on Dec 10.

The championship, organized by the provincial sports bureau and provincial education department, is the province's first tennis event for university students. It aims to provide enriched sports activities for students, promote the development of tennis at local universities, and cultivate high-quality and highly-skilled tennis talents.

Eight teams from Guizhou Normal University, Guizhou Minzu University, Guizhou University of Finance and Economics, Guizhou Medical University, Zunyi Medical University, Guizhou Institute of Technology, Anshun University, and College of Humanities and Science of Guizhou Minzu University, totaling more than 300 athletes, participated in the two-day event, playing a total of 239 matches.
