3rd Guiyang Championship Pool kicks off

The 3rd Guiyang Championship Pool and "Star·Willie·LP" Cup Chinese Style Open Billiards main draw was held at Zhixing Billiard Club in Guiyang Economic and Technological Development Zone on Nov 28.

A total of 32 contestants who won in the qualifying match competed for the top four places that can enter the final on Nov 29.

The competition was sponsored by the publicity department of CPC Guiyang municipal committee, work committee for organizations directly under the CPC Guiyang, and Guiyang sports bureau, and organized by Guiyang Citizen Fitness Center. It applied the latest Chinese style billiards game rules of the Chinese Billiards and Snooker Association, including triangle frame ball racking and taking turns to kick-off.

Lin Rui, a participator, said that the match was formal and standard. As a loyal billiard lover, taking part in it is an affirmation to himself. In recent years, Guiyang has held many of such matches with high standards. He gained support from his families and thought that the competitions could improve skills as well as one's willpower and concentration.

Another contestant Li Liang said that he used to have little chances to participate in such formal games as an amateur. He showed resolution to participate in more of such games and improve skills in the future as the concept of national fitness has been deeply rooted in people's minds and sports infrastructure are perfected.

The match aimed to promote billiards, enrich people's life, and propel national fitness and the development of sports.
