Guiyang prepares for 2022 mountain cycling competitions

The signing ceremony for a mountain cycling project was held on Nov 24 at the Guiyang Olympic Sports Center in Guiyang, the capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.

It was part of Guiyang's preparations for the Guizhou's 11th provincial games, which will be held in Liupanshui city in 2022.

Cen Yongfeng, head of Guiyang People's Stadium, signed the cooperation agreement with representatives from Guizhou Industry Polytechnic College, Guizhou Lunji cycling club and an outdoor sports club from Kaiyang county.

Cen introduced Guiyang's preparations for the mountain cycling games and said that the cooperation represents an effort by Guiyang's sports bureau to integrate sports and education and accelerate professionals' training.

Mei Song, vice-president of Guizhou Industry Polytechnic College, said that the college expects more partnership opportunities with Guiyang's sports bureau in integrating sports and education to promote the development of the city's sports sector.

Representatives from the clubs said they would make efforts to select and train more teenage mountain cycling athletes.

Following the signing ceremony, representatives of Guiyang's mountain cycling athletes received bikes.
